Abstract
In recent years, many agents and methods have been employed for treating dentin hypersensitivity by occluding
the dentinal tubules [1,2]. One of the biomaterials used in this occluding process is pure and differently doped
nano-hydroxyapatite. For this purpose, pure and different rated F ions doped nano-hydroxyapatites, synthesized
by the precipitation method [3,4], have been used for plugging in dentin tubules. At the end of the occluding
process SEM, 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 weeks of degredation and pH study were performed to examine the physical properties
changes. A degredation study was performed to observe coating efficiency for specimens samples after occluding.
Moreover, after the degredation operation, cytotoxicity studies were carried out using MTT method on L929
fibroblast cells to investigate the toxic properties of degrade product in liquid SBF and degrade treatment at the
end of the degredation study. All of the nHAp materials evaluated in this study formed an effective clogging layer
in the dentin tubes. It is also found that this layer is resistant to degradation and does not cause toxicity.
